Project Description

The Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich is one of the biggest universities in Germany (more than 50,000 students) The department of Education and Rehabilitation (within the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Science) is involved in the training of more than 7,000 prospective teachers for all types of schools and also successfully runs bachelor and master programs. Specific research areas include lifetime educational processes, further education, social learning and the promotion of new learning cultures, research on the development of teaching, research on teacher professionalism, educational disparities, integration of children and adolescents into school and society, and prevention, intervention, and rehabilitation. The department regularly achieves excellent results in evaluations and university rankings.

LMU’s Expertise

The members of the Institute for Educational Science (within this department) have special expertise in doing quality management and quality assurance within educational institutions or projects. They have been engaged in several international (R3L+, Eduplan, DISCUSS) or nationwide projects (‘Learning Regions’ or ‘Learning in Place’). They are also involved in several regional projects in this topic, especially in supporting migrants or refugees. Their expertise is focused on quality development, evaluation in regional, national and international contexts and on lifelong learning.
