Case Study Associação Cultural Moinho da Juventude (Youth’s Windmill Cultural Association) Process of Recognition, Validation and Certification of Competences in Baby-sitters and Educational Technical Assistants

The Associação Cultural Moinho da Juventude (Cultural Association Youth’s Windmill) works in a social, cultural and economical level covering children, youngsters and adults. It is a Communitarian Intervention Project that aims to solve a wide range of problems (social, cultural, educational, training, economical, urbanity) in an integrated and sustainable way, and to value the culture and knowledge of the district’s inhabitants trough their involvement and resources and also from external people

The Project was directed to Educational Assistants (Educational Technical Assistant) that worked in the Association’s kindergarten and in the Free Time Activities Centre (CATL) and in other entities of the closest neighborhoods and for women that perform their occupation as baby-sitters (took care of children at home). They were, mainly, immigrant women from Cape Verde.
